The Residential Life Skills Coach will provide life-skills training to mentally ill adults in a 24-hour residential facility in an effort to reach their level of recovery. Duties include, but are not limited to: teaching and/or observing critical skills to promote independence in all areas of daily living, organizing or conducting age appropriate learning sessions in group or individual settings, teaching from lesson plans and curriculums for structured trainings, overseeing and providing transportation for individual and group excursions, teaching clients medication-related skills to increase compliance and provide opportunity for increased independent functioning.
CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- High School Diploma required
- Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, etc.) from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education a plus
- One year experience in a service capacity of individuals in need (children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally and/or mentally disabled, special needs, etc.) and/or related coursework as determined through review of college transcript required,
- Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model highly preferred
