Position Summary

The Staff Psychiatrist will head up our Recovery Support Team that is based in Anderson, Indiana, that cares for our serious mentally ill population.  Duties include, but are not limited to, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, diagnostic services, crisis intervention/emergency services, consultation and education services as needed, timely clinical documentation and close collaboration with our Primary Care clinic.  The Staff Psychiatrist will be expected to participate in team meetings and will be expected to make rounds to see clients in our group home settings once a week.  On-Call is by telephone only, with on-call therapists answering the calls to gather information, prior to calling the Psychiatrist.  This Psychiatrist will enjoy a solid group of colleagues, supportive staff and a very competitive benefits package.     

This is primarily a day shift position that offers a Monday through Friday work schedule. Some travel required. 


  • Medical degree from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education


  • Must be recognized as a Medical Doctor by the State of Indiana
  • Must have a valid Indiana Certification to prescribe Controlled Substances (CSR)
  • Must have a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Must be Board Certified 


  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in mental health and/or human services setting 


  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) a plus
  • Must exhibit an interest and ability to work effectively with the severely mentally ill, dual diagnostic clients and display a commitment to community-based psycho-social rehabilitation
  • Ability to work and effectively deal with multiple types of personalities in a variety of situations 
  • Must have the ability to empathize and be compassionate to client needs
  • Must be able to work autonomously and under own initiative
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
  • Must be capable of exercising good judgment in crisis situations
  • Must be flexible and cooperative, and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to learn quickly and grasp new procedures and concepts
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must be results driven
