Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is a combination nursing and administrative leadership position.  The Director, Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing and medical assistant services, advances collective accomplishment of Aspire's strategic goals and initiatives, and enhances the development of a culture of integrated care.  This position will promote team based care across Aspire's healthcare delivery system, understand the need to balance mission and margin within our healthcare delivery system, collaborate with all departments in support of the organizational mission, vision and strategic plan, and provide strategic direction, leadership, mentoring, stability and support to all direct reports so they may cascade these qualities down their lines.   


  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred


  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in mental health and/or human services with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Primary Healthcare experience, a plus


  • Must have an active RN license in the State of Indiana


  • Current BLS certification
  • TB certification 


  • Position demands a high level of safety awareness and teaching skills
  • Knowledge and experience of DSM, crisis and emergency interventions and infection control 
  • Must be able to work and effectively deal with multiple types of personalities in a variety of situations
  • Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
  • Must have reliable transportation to visit multiple work sites and/or attend trainings and/or meetings
